Testing and Standards

Renray tests its products to follow British Contract Furniture Association, British Standards and our own internal SHEQ Quality Assurances.

These nationally recognised standards include:

  • BS EN 15372:2008 – Strength and Stability
  • BS EN 15373:2008 - Strength and Stability
  • BS EN 16139 – Strength, durability and Safety
  • BS 4875 Strength Test Level 4 Part 1
  • BS 4875 Stability Test Part 2
  • BS EN 16121:2013 – Non-domestic storage furniture, requirements for safety, strength, durability and stability.
  • Fire Retardancy of Fabrics – BS 7176:2007 Medium Hazard
  • Fire Retardancy of Fabrics – BS 5852:1990 Ignition Source 5
  • Fabric Abrasion – Martindale Rub Test Minimum 40,000 rubs
  • Flame Retardancy (Beds) – BS 7177
  • Safety (Beds) – BS EN 13453:2004 parts 1 & 2
  • ISO60601-2-52 Medical electrical equipment — Part 2-52: Particular requirements for the basic safety and essential performance of medical beds

While testing includes Fire Retardant Efficiency ratings (completed by fabric suppliers), Renray use companies including Bureau, VERITAS, FIRA and AMTAC laboratories to assess the Safe Working Loads, Durability and Impervious quality of our products.
