Bringing Summer 2021 Into Your Bedrooms!

Compared to a year ago when Renray was pulling out all the stops to supply beds to the NHS for the new Nightingale hospitals, our world now seems to be a brighter place.

Renray’s factory is in full production and we are being welcomed back by care homes keen to refresh their homes as normality returns.

Our designers and suppliers have been busy during this time, refreshing our products and sourcing new fabrics to brighten up any room.

This year’s summer trend is refresh, renew, rejuvenate!

Including elements and views of nature through Biophilic design in interiors has been shown to increase healing, improve productivity, and enhance learning. Using natural hues and patterns in fabrics and natural wood effect finishes increases wellbeing and optimism, reflecting the season!

Wellbeing, health and enhancing a positive outlook is at the heart of our priorities right now and care home operators are keen to update their homes with fresh new looks to benefit their residents. Many care homes are choosing to give their bedroom design for 2021 a refresh. The new bedroom designs are benefiting not only the current residents but helping to attract new residents too!

After long months of lockdown and isolation these bedroom makeovers with stylish new profiling beds, colourful and fresh soft furnishings and curtains, and natural wood effect furniture, providing ample storage solutions, create a “feel good factor” so many of us are looking for.

By bringing nature inside through your choice of upholstery and soft furnishings fabrics, accessories and artwork, and complimented with coordinated furniture, creating a “view within the room” is so important when opportunities to get out and about are limited.

Design Tips!

If the time is not right for a refurbishment but you still want to bring summer into your care home, here are some interior design tips to help you bring Summer indoors:

  • Maximise the natural daylight

  • Place non-toxic plants or fresh cut flowers in every room - Plants aid in purifying the air, increasing oxygen levels essential to wellbeing and flowers impact the senses with colour and fragrance

  • Bring the outside in on sunny days - When its warm, open windows and doors to the garden, multiplying the benefits from the indoor plants for residents with fresh air and the scents of the garden

  • Create 24/7 comfort – Use fit for purpose, pressure reducing chairs and beds to aid residents who spend long periods of time on them

  • Layout – Think about the room layout to encourage independence, movement and activity

  • Declutter – Ensure the purpose of the room is clear
