Electric beds or Adjustable beds or profiling beds, whatever you call them, all plug into an electrical socket and cost you money. But how much money do they cost a year to the average healthcare facility? The cost is related to the usage, how many times you press the button to move a function on the bed, well everyone is different and has different needs, some residents or patients will not move the bed an inch, and others are constantly adjusting so we don’t know exactly but can make an educated estimate. Let’s say we add the standby power consumption, plus 10 backrest and knee break movements plus 5 variable height movements. Which is roughly 10 minutes of movement per day.
