Electric Recliners

Electric Recliners are chairs that are motorised to change their seating position through the use of electronic components. Depending on how much movement you require, they are fitted with between one to three motors. As an example, an electric recliner chair with three motors has the ability to adjust the leg rest, the backrest and additionally tilt the recliner in space to make it as effortless as possible to get in and out of.

Choosing between Electric Recliner Chairs and Manual Recliner Chairs

The different motor options that are discussed above generally mean that electric recliners have a larger range of movement than manual recliners. Therefore, they’re usually better suited to users with more limited movement, making them ideal for care home use. Moreover, they tend to have a longer lifespan than manual models. However, they are also more expensive to repair, so maintenance costs are usually higher. In all, it’s important that consideration is taken when deciding on which type of recliner you or your patients need.

If you’d like to know more about the differences between the two, you can have a read through a brief article we did on the topic here.
