General care & recommended cleaning of impervious fabric

General

Clean and care for your upholstery on a regular basis and it will maintain its condition and appearance.

Cleaning

– Clean spillages within 15 minutes of the spillage occurring. This stops the contaminate attacking the fabric, as it may be alkali or acidic in nature.

– Remove bodily fluids promptly (within 15 minutes) with cold water and the clean as below.

– Prompt cleaning following spillages will ensure that odours do not remain with the upholstery. The antimicrobial / antibacterial treatment should eliminate any such odour inherent on the soiling causing the spillage.

– Remove as much of the contaminate as possible before cleaning of the fabric starts ideally with a self wicking absorbent cloth or sponge.

– Using a damp cloth, sponge or Micofibre cloth repeatedly wipe (do not rub) the affected area using tepid to cool water.  After a few minutes of wiping rinse the cloth or sponge in the water and repeat the process until the contaminate is removed.

– If this process is carried out quickly after the spillage is made no further cleaning should be required.

– Textured Micofibre cleaning cloths are effective without soap as soap residue can clog your fabric and degrade the stain resistance properties of the fabric.

– Do not use multi-purpose cleaners, agents or chemical based products as these will attack the stain resistance properties of the fabric and possibly the impervious properties of the fabric.

– Do not machine wash, fully immerse, dry clean or apply chemicals/stain removers.

Maintenance

Vacuum and/or wipe clean (do not rub) regularly with a damp microfibre cloth to remove dust particles and prevent build up of soiling. Textured Microfibre cleaning cloths are extremely effective without soap, which is helpful as soap residues clog your fabric and hinder the stain repellent.
