 Seatec® seat cushion
Studies have consistently revealed a link between sitting and the development of pressure ulcers, underlining the critical contribution of appropriate pressure care seating to risk management programmes3-6. The SEATEC® range utilises superior moulded foam technology, together with chair designs tested to withstand the rigours of everyday use. Contouring and profiling of the seat surface helps to ensure a high level of pressure reduction and comfort. The surface contouring and graduated cell profile creates a more uniform distribution of pressure, reducing the potential for tissue damage to occur. Sculpting of the cushion also provides a measure of pelvic control, lessening the likelihood of an individual sliding into a slouched position and concentrating pressure over the sacrum.
The integral skin of moulded foam and shaped design ensure support where it is most needed, whilst the two way stretch cover minimises the risk of "hammocking". Both the foam and cover are impregnated with antimicrobial agent. The cover is also waterproof, has a non slip base and complies with the Department of Health Infection Control
Guidelines.
The SEATEC cushion is available on the Belgium, Queen Anne and the Caledonian chairs as an option.
